This Is A Memo For All “On the Fence” Pats Fans...You're Either With Us Or You're Against Us

CNN – I am 42, and have been a New England Patriots fan for 42 years, plus nine months when you include that prenatal season. (While your mother was listening to Mozart, mine was listening to Gil Santos talk about Jim Plunkett.) This is an existential crisis. How can you root for a cheater? How can you award malfeasance? How can you cheer a con? You can’t. At least you shouldn’t. I shouldn’t cheer for the Patriots. I know that, no matter what my genetic coding says.
Look, no one needs to cheat. It is a choice, and it is the wrong choice. And it is not a choice I want to condone somehow — tacitly or otherwise — to my 7-year-old boys. I have spent so much emotional capital and enthusiasm raising them as Patriots fans while living in New York, and now I am beginning to regret it. I fear I have led them down the path to the dark side. Maybe they can still be saved.Do I want the Patriots to lose the Super Bowl? No. I am just not wired that way. But I know I should. And that is why I am ashamed. Angry and ashamed.

I needed to blog this real quick. This is for any Pats fan like this pussy from CNN who was like “why did Belichick do this? The Colts are horrifc. We could have beaten them blindfolded and with 1 hand behind our backs. This just makes us look bad blah, blah, blah” This blog is specifically for you. Get the fuck out. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to people who rise and sleep under the blanket of success that Belichick provides, and then questions the manner in which he provides it. I would rather you just thanked my friend Bill and I, and went on your way. The facts are that Bill Belichick is a football genius. An idiot savant. He sleeps, breathes, eats football. That’s it. His entire life is devoted to finding the best ways to win football games. He leaves no stone unturned. He leaves nothing to chance. He searches for every advantage and edge he can get. That’s our guy. You can’t say don’t do this or turn it down a level. He outcoaches, outworkes, out studies, outprepares every human on earth. That’s what makes him who he is. That’s why we have 3 Lombardi Trophies. That’s why we’ve been to 6 Superbowls. That’s why we’re the greatest franchise in sports. It’s because of Belichick. If you don’t like the whole package get out. I heard the Jets are looking for fans.
